Digital Video Association of South Africa
The Digital Video Association of South Africa was formed in May 2000 by a group of concerned individuals experiencing similar problems in the field of non-linear (NLE) editing on PC based systems. Recently, Apple users have also started to join the association. DVA members make use of a wide range of camera and editing equipment. The DVA executive interacts with all relevant service providers on behalf of members.
The aim of the DVA is to act as a support group to the members and to stay on top of local and world trends in the digital field. The DVA has developed a unique accreditation process for all it’s members. The DVA head office is currently based in Durbanville, Cape Town. The DVA of SA is a national organisation and is supported by various industry players. Membership is open to all involved in the industry, from home video hobbyist to professional production houses.
The DVA of SA is well known for accreditation and networking.
Leipzig School of Design
Leipzig School Of Design is a German based preparatory school for high-school graduates and young professionals, who wish to study design or the visual arts at academy or university.
In 6 or 12 month courses students acquire basic knowledge of visual design
in terms of drawing, composition, colour theory, typography, digital design as well as art and design history, design projects and techniques of presentation. They come here to create their portfolio in a stimulating environment and get coached for entrance exams and study proposals.
Leipzig School Of Design is deeply involved in the cities cultural life and cultivates contact to German academies and universities of visual arts and design.
Verbund Technischer Kunstschulen
The Berliner Technische Kunstschule, Berlin Germany, is an academy of graphic design and a major international partner of ours. We run a “Study Abroad” program specifically for their 4th Semester and Post Graduate students. Students of the BTK, RTK and HTK can visit us for 3 months in the year, to learn English and study further in their particular area of digital design. Currently, we are hosting 15 VTK students of a 3 month program, watch this space for further links to their outstanding project work in progress.
The Cape Town School of English
The Cape Town School of English, in South Africa, is a language school specialising in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Our students register to do short (2 weeks) or long (six months to 1 year) courses. Students come from all parts of the world but mainly from Europe, Africa and the Far East.
L4 Institut
L4, a Berlin-based institute for visual and media design has delivered, since 1996, nationally recognised courses within its vast and impressive facilities. On offer are extensive courses in music management, video, and film production, as well as Game design and selected courses in the TV arena, which will soon be available.
Kölner Design Academy
Internationality, intercultural exchange and an international network of co-operation partners who offer suitable programmes abroad, create an atmosphere at the Kölner Design Akademie in which design and professionalism ideally develop. Study programmes offered at the Kölner Design Akademie are Graphic Design, Illustration, Digital Imaging and Communication Design.
