We’re talking custom skateboards, each customised and showcased at the HERO exhibition, all at Friends of Design on Thursday, 7th August 2014.
See your favourite comic heroes and/or fiends cast in stone, eerrrr, wood under the direction of professional illustrators at our previous HERO workshop, held last month.
Come and see what our comic aficionados, autodidact artists and promising comic enthusiasts created to leave an indelible mark on their skate decks in an array of materials. Drawing techniques on the skateboards promises to be nicely varied just like the personas of the comic genre.
Create your own hero and showcase it at our expo
The world of comics is full of amazing superheroes, each with their own superpowers, strengths and weaknesses. From Batman and Spiderman, to the Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman and Banana Man, everyone has their favourite character, whether they are good, bad or somewhere in-between! Led by professional illustrators, this workshop will provide budding street, comic and illustration artists with the opportunity to create their own superhero or villain and improve their drawing technique on skate-decks.
Evening courses in advanced 3D modeling technology
Friends of Design are offering potential students the opportunity to master the essentials needed to enter the dynamic world of 3D modeling. The evening classes will centre on modules focussing on modeling, sculpting and texturing.
No matter if you are intending to conjure high-end 3D models for video games, forming perfect architectural structures for clients, or even producing eye-catching animations for the web or models for 3D Printing; this is your first and best step to attain the necessary skills. Harness the power of advanced 3D design software, Blender, which is constantly updated in order to keep up with the industry’s growing need for individuals adept in 3D design.
